Unbroken (Forgotten Rebels MC #1) Page 9

  “What the fuck!” Wick yelled.

They were hit again, this time on the side. The tires screeched as Heart stomped on the brakes. Piper screamed as the attacker rammed them again.

  “Who’s hitting us?” she sobbed.

The crunch of metal reverberated through the cabin as the person hit them again, crunching in the driver’s side. They were pushed off the road, and their damaged car made a sickening squeal as it slid down the embankment and rolled onto its side. Glass shattered, and Piper threw her arms around her head to protect her face from the falling shards. It was all over in a matter of minutes, and when the world stopped spinning, Piper lay shaking on her side. It was eerily silent, as if all sound had been sucked away. She pushed up shakily but sliced her hand on the broken shards around her.

  “Wick?” she asked. “Heart?”

  Neither man answered her.

It was dark. Quiet. She couldn’t see into the front seats from her current position and panic blossomed inside her.

“Oh, God,” she whispered. She needed to get some help, but whoever had run them off the road was probably still out there.

Piper reached up with her uninjured hand and grasped the other door to haul herself up. The Buick was old and had bench seats, so she leaned over them and felt that Heart and Wick were a tangle of arms and legs. She shoved each man, but got no response.

  “Are you alive, Piper?”

The taunting voice floated toward her, from what sounded like a distance. She looked up through the shattered passenger-side window.

“If you’re alive, come out. If you don’t, I’m going to start shooting. I may hit your friends.”

Piper tried to think about what to do. Carefully, she felt her way around the bodies until her hand brushed over the butt of Wick’s gun in the back of his waistband. Hoping both men weren’t hurt too badly, she stuck the gun in the back of her jeans and then made her way carefully out of the car, stepping on the bench seats to propel herself out of the passenger-side window.

Once out of the car, she looked up the steep embankment and saw a woman standing at the top. She squinted in the dim moonlight and realized it was Jane.

  “Jane?”

Jane chuckled. “Come on up here, Piper, and I’ll tell you my real name.”

With every cell in her body, Piper knew that was a bad idea, but she couldn’t risk having her shoot at the car, hurting Wick or Heart even more than they already were. So she used the tall grass to help climb the side until she stumbled onto the asphalt.

“I’m really glad you’re not dead,” Jane said. “Yet.”

Piper watched the woman warily. Her hand throbbed, her back throbbed, but she pushed aside all her aches and pains, determined to get out of this alive.

  “Who are you?” she demanded.

“You still don’t remember me?” Jane asked. “You used to come over to my house all the time. Used to tell me how handsome my brother was.”

“Becky?” Piper whispered. The woman before her had borne little resemblance to the young girl she’d once known, except for the eyes. Now that she thought back, Jane did have Tyler’s eyes: The exact shade and shape––and the same craziness, shining through. “What are you doing here?”

“You ruined my brother’s life,” she said in a calm voice. The eerie tone sent shivers down Piper’s back. The small shine of moonlight glinted off the gun in her hand.

“Your brother murdered my family,” Piper said. Fear caused her stomach to quiver sickeningly. “He killed a cop.”

“You drove him to that.” Becky seemed beyond reason as her fingers flexed more firmly around the butt of the gun. “You destroyed him. Destroyed everything!”

Piper put her hands up, trying to show how non-threatening she was. “I know you were only a little girl then, but Tyler was a bad man, Becky.”

“I was ten,” she replied. “My brother died two years after being sent to prison, and the day he was laid in the ground I swore I’d find you. I didn’t know where you were for the longest time, until I remembered that Michael had an older son, and then I knew you’d run to him. Only took me a few months to track you down.”

“Becky, you’re too young to throw your life away for revenge,” she said, trying to reason with the girl.

“Too young?” Becky cocked her head. “I was ten when my brother was sent away. I was twelve when he was murdered. My parents gave up. We were ostracized. I lost everything! Because of you!”

“You could’ve hurt me at any moment,” Piper said. “A bullet travels far.”

Becky shrugged one shoulder. “I didn’t want to kill you from a distance. I wanted to look in your eyes and have you know who it was that ended your miserable life. To know Tyler was finally avenged.”

“So you used the party as an opportunity.”

“For the first time in months, luck was with me. I got onto the compound and now I have my chance to look you in the eye and watch as you die.”

They were all alone on the road. No one could help her. The night that Tyler killed her family flashed back and Piper felt sick that history was almost repeating itself. Wick was hurt, possibly dying, all because of her. Only now she had the means to fight back. Slowly, so as not to reveal anything, Piper eased her uninjured hand behind her and took the gun out of her jeans. She flipped the safety off and waited.

“Don’t do this,” she begged, trying once more to reason with the girl.

“I’m the last one left,” Becky said. “The last one to get revenge for the wrong you put my family through.”

Piper took a deep breath to steady her nerves. “Tyler was a psychopath,” she said. “And so are you.”

  “You bitch!” Becky yelled.

Piper dropped to the ground at the same time Becky fired her gun. She brought her own weapon up and fired, hitting the younger woman in the leg. Becky cried out as she collapsed, the pistol clattered upon the road, and Piper didn’t waste a moment, jumping up to rush toward her. Becky lay writhing upon the ground, moaning.

“I hate you!” Becky sobbed. “I hate you so much.”

Piper just stared down at the poor, deluded girl. She’d lived her whole life with the belief her older brother had been wronged.

“He killed my family in cold blood,” she said. “He shot my stepfather, my mother and my ten-year-old brother. I never led Tyler on. I never drove him to do anything. And when I went to the safe house your family somehow got the information as to where to find me. Your brother shot and killed the cop guarding me.”

“No! You’re lying!” Becky shouted through her tears.

Piper shook her head. “No, I’m not.”

Becky let out a scream full of rage as she lunged for her dropped gun. Piper immediately kicked it away then balled her hand into a fist and strike Becky forcibly across the jaw. The younger girl fell limp.

  “Damn it,” Piper muttered.

The sound of motorcycles thundered up the road, and Piper sagged in relief. Didn’t matter who was coming, she knew instantly she could trust any one of the Brothers, either from the Forgotten Rebels or The White Death MC. And then she recognized Kix in the lead and she knew everything would be okay. Heart and Wick needed help, and Becky needed a fucking straight jacket.

Moments later, his arms enveloped her just as her knees gave out. The rest of the Brothers rushed forward ready to help.

  Chapter Fifteen

  Two weeks later

Kix was having an awesome wet dream.

In it, Piper’s warm mouth was sucking his cock, taking him as deep as she could. Fingernails dug into his skin. Her hair tickled his thighs. She cupped his balls and rolled them around in her palms. He couldn’t help but fuck her face, and it wasn’t until her teeth grazed the crown of his dick that he went from floating in his half dream world to wakeful in an instant.

And that’s when he discovered he wasn’t having a wet dream. His cock was actually between Piper’s lips … so he buried his fingers in her hair.

“Oh, sweetheart, suck me down with that incredible mouth of yours.”

Piper obeyed instantly, renewing the blowjob with vigor. Slurping sounds filled the room. He groaned and his hips jumped involuntarily. His dick leaked moisture from the tip because he was painfully aroused. Her hand pumped the shaft as she sucked the head into her mouth, lavishing his pre-cum like it was ambrosia to savor.

His hips bucked against her face as his cock slid in and out of her mouth. Her lips replaced her hand, wrapping tightly around him as she sucked so hard her cheeks hollowed. Piper’s mouth was so small that it actually felt like he was fucking her pussy. He desperately wanted to bury himself inside her and ride her until they were both delirious, but he was disinclined to let this end too fast.

With obvious reluctance, he pulled back to plop out of her mouth. She looked up at him through her lashes, her lips glistening with saliva.

“I don’t want to come in your mouth,” he told her. “I want to be buried in your tight little pussy when I do.”

  ****

Piper grinned and licked the lingering salty essence off her lips. Yes. She wanted him to cum in her as well, but she wanted to torture him more. She loved the power she wielded over his body.

Piper admired his large cock. The skin on the head was smooth but swollen as pre-cum leaked steadily from the tip. She sucked it into her mouth, using the flat top of her tongue to massage the bulging vein that disappeared under the mushroom head where she lapped up the drops of white fluid that dripped from the hole. He moaned and bucked his hip. Piper slipped her mouth around the head, easing her mouth over then down, going slowly. Her right hand encircled the base while her left hand rested on Kix’s hip to control the thrusts.

Little by little, she increased the tempo, speeding up. She moved one hand to his sack and squeezed it, gently rolling the balls through the thin skin. Kix gave a heavy gasp, his hips twitching under the restraint he was holding onto.

“God! Piper!” Kix grunted. “You’ve got such a talented mouth, sweetheart.”

The dirty words made her shiver with desire. He pulled back and she let go of his cock with a little pop as the suction broke. She scooted up and then straddled his hips.

“You’re so fucking sexy,” he said.

He slid a hand up her rib cage until he found the curve of her breast, then cupped the shape, molding her to his palm as he gently traced over the turgid nipple with his fingertip. She arched and gasped.

“Are you wet for me?” he asked.

“Oh yes,” she said. “Dripping. Please. I need you inside me.”

He grabbed her hips and helped her ease down onto him, filling her. Their eyes met and something profound passed between them, touching her to her soul. His cock stretched her, almost painfully, but she loved it. She’d never felt so full, so out of her mind with need. He twined their fingers together and then he began to push his hips upward just as she ground down. The friction spun her into the stratosphere, blowing her mind until all that mattered in the world was where they were joined together.

  “Am I hurting you?”

“No. I need you so much, Kix.”

  “Ride me, sweetheart.”

It was all the encouragement she needed. Piper clamped her thighs around his and rode him hard, propelling herself up and down his cock, working their fever up until they were both straining, sweating. She was half draped over his body, the tips of her breasts brushed against his chest as his arms locked around her. The friction between them, rubbing all her sensitive places, was too much.

“Kix! I’m going to come!” she cried.

  “Yes!” he cried back.

She splintered apart, soaring high. Kix came deep inside her body with a hearty groan of fulfillment. Piper collapsed onto him and he wrapped his arms around her, twisting around so they lay side by side.

“Best way to wake up,” Kix said.

“Very best,” Piper agreed, still a bit breathless.

He ran a finger over her cheek, down her neck, to brush across her collarbone. “So, you don’t regret coming with me to my club … do you?”

The night she’d been confronted by Becky, Wick had suffered a concussion and Heart had gotten two broken ribs and a large lump on his forehead. They had ended up spending the night in the hospital and she’d joined them since she’d popped the stitches to her wound. Becky had been treated and then arrested––her crazy rants guaranteed her a very long stay in the mental ward, under lock and key.

Piper couldn’t help but feel sorry for the angry yet confused woman.

Also in the past few weeks, Piper had come to a lot of decisions. The main one being that she realized life was too short to ponder the what-ifs. She could never go back and change what had happened. She could only go forward, and she discovered that she liked taking care of the Brothers. Without even realizing it, she’d found her place in life. When Kix had asked her to come back with him, despite only knowing each other for a handful of days, Piper agreed.

Part of her new freedom of choice.

Two weeks later, things were going very well between them. She’d taken over the chores in The White Death MC seamlessly, and the sweet butts were more than happy to have her since that meant they didn’t have to do the work.

Plus, it didn’t hurt that she had slowly started to fall in love with him. It wasn’t what she would’ve liked because she knew how it was in a motorcycle club. Men rarely stayed faithful. Her thoughts must have reflected on her face because Kix put a finger under her chin and lifted until she stared him in the eyes.

  “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Nothing,” she said, smiling. Trying to act nonchalant.

  “Tell me,” he insisted.

Piper sighed. “I have feelings for you.”

He tensed slightly. “Sweetheart, I have feelings for you too.”

  “That’s good,” she said lamely.

“Something’s still wrong,” he stated flatly.

“I…ah, I don’t think I can handle it when you go with other women.”

“What?” he asked, a bit incredulously. “What the hell are you talking about?”

“I’m just saying, I know what living in a club means. And I just don’t think I can tolerate––”

“Now wait just a damn minute, Piper. Do you honestly think I want other inferior pussy when I have the best in my bed? Not to mention, I fucking love you.”

Now it was her turn to stare at him in shock. “You love me?”

“Yeah. Of course I do.” He smiled and hugged her tightly. “How could I not? I knew the moment I laid eyes on you were fucking perfect for me. I can tell you right now, no other woman is going to satisfy me.”

Lightness flooded through her, releasing her negative thoughts and doubts. She hugged him back.

“I love you, too,” she murmured.

  Epilogue

Abbott touched her laptop screen, where a picture of Wick dominated the center. He had sent it to her through the instant message program she visited every night. He was even more handsome than he’d been in high school, although the years had carved grooves on his face. He was two years older than she and when he’d left, she’d been devastated. Back then she’d taken the breakup badly, and had made a horrible mistake that had led to her present situation. She wished she could go back in time and rewrite history. Just erase all the bad choices she’d made and start over.

With a sigh, Abbott logged out and shut her laptop down. Once it had turned off, she unplugged it and collected the cord. She slipped it and the computer back into her backpack and zipped it up. She looked around with regret. She had liked this coffee house. It was going to be difficult to leave and start over once more, but she’d been stationary too long.

And Billy had a knack for finding her. He always did.

Abbott downed the rest of her coffee and then stood. She stretched before slinging on her backpack. She was in Seattle right now, but she planned to head toward Montana. Maybe she’d work h
er way down to Missouri, go home for a little bit before heading further south. She had to vary her destinations, but she missed the place she’d been born and raised. She’d been all over the United States and even to parts of Canada, but no place was quite like home.

Pulling her cap down low on her head, she left the coffee house and stepped out into the misty rain. She had many miles to travel before she could rest.
